Doctrinal Statement
I. The Scriptures: (Old and New Testament).
A. The only supreme revelation of God to man. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
1. Doctrinally - source of knowledge. (Proverbs 1:7)
2. Practically - daily christian living. (James 1:22)
B. Inherrant, plenary, verbal, authoritative and God breathed in the orginial manuscripts.
C. Perfectly perserved through the King James Bible. (The only one our church uses)
II. The Godhead.
A. God exists in three persons. (1 John 5:7)
1. Father: Creator and sustainer of all. (Exodus 3:4)
2. Son: Redeemer. (Hebrews 1:1-8, John 3:16)
3. Holy Spirit: Convicts of sin and is the Spirit of truth. (John 16: 8-16)
B. All three exist in perfect harmony. (Romans 8:9, 17, 26)
III. Creation.
A. Heaven and earth were created by God. (Genesis 1:1)
B. The six days of creation were literal 24 hour days.
IV. Salvation.
A. By grace, not works. (Ephesians 2: 8-9)
B. Through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. (John 3:14-18)
C. Repentance: confessing ans turning away from sin. ( 1 Thessalonians 1:9)
V. Mankind.
A. Created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26)
B. Created male and female. (Genesis 1: 27)
C. Given a free will. (Genesis 2: 16-17)
1. Man chose to exercise his free will. (Genesis 3:6)
2. Plunged the human race into sin. (Genesis 3:9-20)
VI. The Church
A. Looks forward to the Rapture. ( 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18)
1. The Rapture is pre-tribulation.
2. The Rapture is imminent.
3. The Rapture is pre-millennial.
B. The local church is a autonomous body of born again believers. (Acts 2: 41-47). [No "mother church" or hierarchy].
C. Two officers: Pastors (1 Timothy 3:1-7) and Deacons. (1 Timothy 3:8-13)
D. Two ordinances: baptism by immersion (Acts 8: 26-39) and Communion. (1 Corinthians 11:23-24).
E. The mission of the church.
1. Exalt the Savior. (Acts 4:2)
2. Edify the Saint. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
3. Evangelize the sinner. (Matthew 28: 19-20)
VII. Separation.
A. Personal separation: from worldliness and sinful practices. Not only separated from the world but unto God. (1 Cor. 6: 14-17)
B. Ecclesiastical separation: from false teachers (1 Timothy 1:6-7) and disobedient bretheren. (1 Corinthians 5)
VIII. Jesus Christ: His work, humanity and Diety.
A. Virgin born. (Matthew 1:22-25)
B. Humanity. (John 1:4)
C. Diety. (Phillipians 2:6011, John 1:1)
D. Atonement. (Romans 3:25, 1 John 2:2)
E. His Second Coming.
1. The Rapture. (1Thessalonians 4:13-18)
2. Second Advent: Physical return to earth to set up His Kingdom. (Revalation 19, Matthew 24)
IX. Satan: a created, fallen angel.
A. Author of sin. (Isaiah 14:12-14)
B. The god of this present age. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
C. He will face eternal judgement. (Revalation 20:10)
D. Fallen angels, known as demons, rebelled with Satan.
X. Angels.
A. Different classes such as ministering spirits, archangels, Seraphims, Cherubims.
B. Minister to God's people. (Hebrews 1:4)
XI. The Eternal State.
A. Saved: reign and rule with Jesus. (Revelation 1:6)
1. Heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:17)
2. Jesus is preparing a place for believers. (John 14:1-6)
B. Lost: those that reject Christ.
1. Hades: the temporary holding place for the unsaved, place of torment. (Luke 16: 19-31)
2. Great White Throne: the unsaved are judged and cast into the eternal Lake of Fire. (Revelation 20:10-15)
XII. Dispensations
A. God deals man differently in different dispensations (economies) such as in the age of Innocence (Genesis 1:28-3:6), Conscience (Genesis 3:7-8:14) Human Government (Genesis 8:15-11:32), Promise (Genesis 12; Exodus 19:8) Old Testament Law (Exodus 19:9), Church (Acts 2:1-Revelation 4:1), Tribulation (Revelation 6-19), Kingdom (Revelation 20-22).
B. We currently live in the Church Age. The Tribulation and Kingdom Age are future dispensations.
XIII. Current controversial issues facing the church:
A. Gay Theology.
B. Decline of family: divorce, same sex marriage, transgender, etc.
C. Contemporary services: CCM/"Praise and Worship".
D. Church Movements: Emergent churches, purpose driven. etc.
E. Spread of Islam / Replacement Theology.
